|
|
Hello,
I am using the free script but willing to pay/donate for support.
I am using the Free Script
FF and or IE
My OS is XP, Web server is Linux
www.jamesturner.co.nz/upload/upload_form.html
The script is uploading and saving the file correctly and redirects.
The script does show the final progress bar page.
The script is not showing the progress bar. I have tried uploading files up to 2mb and never see the progress bar.
I have chmod my directories as you mention.
I have added the .htaccess file you suggest.
I am not sure what is wrong, maybe a server setting?
Any advice or help is much appreciated.
Thank you,
=-) |

Actually we do not support free installations officially.
But I think there could be 2 reasons: you specified wrong temp folder path in config, or your server caching the upload stream.
Make sure you have temp subfolder/file in temp directory while uploading. |

Thank you for the tips. I am happy to purchase a pro version but the free version is currently the one I want.
The script is creating sub folders and files during upload
/[domain]/cgi-bin/temp/[random number]/file
I guess it must be a caching issue then? Any workarounds please?
Thank you,

If it's caching then filesize of temp files inside subfolder won't grow during the upload.
Only can tell you that Pro version use improved technique for tracking uploads, but it still fails on some hardly caching servers. |

Ah, interesting, my server is down at the moment, but when its back up I will check the temp file size to see if it grows.
I have purchased a pro copy, but I am waiting for my purchase to be approved.
I will let you know how I get on.
I really wanted to use the free version as I also want to use a version of XUpload that has been modified to work with the php framework Qcodo.
The example on my site is your original free version unmodified.
DreamHost seems to have pretty tight systems and I guess they are possibly chaching pretty hard or something.
Thank you again,

I have just checked my ftp while uploading a large image and in the temp folder it has 2 files,
CGItemp28741 - this file grows in size during the upload.
flength - this file just stays the same size.
When my pro version arrives I will try that and see how I get on.
Thanks,

The pro version runs on my server which is great.
I now just need to look into and decided what I am going to do about making it work with the php frame work I'm using.
Thank you for your help,

Wait a moment...are you somehow connected to these guys: http://www.sibsoft.net/forum/xupload-free-license-t665.html
They were talking about Free version integration to Qcode. If you gonna integrate Pro version somewhere, make sure you won't distribute it with XUpload Pro code inside. For these situation we provide special developer license personally. |

I'm using the same frame work as those guys, I found your product through Qcodo forums.
I am writing my own website, unrelated to them.
I will not distribute XUpload code. I will only be using it on the sites I develop for me.
The reason I purchased a pro copy was
a) to support you in helping me
b) to check what degree my server is stopping the free version from showing the progress bar.
I would still really like the free version to work as I can easily integrate it into Qcodo.
I was looking over the pro version and I see you have added lots of extra things in the script to make it work much better.
Thanks,

Oh, allright then, no problems. Good luck with integration!
Yeah, free version is pretty old code. Pro is way much better, true |
